Problem:
This issue was reported to Lotus Quality Engineering and has been addressed in
Domino 5.0.8.

Compact - Server
SPR# THIO4S8EFK - New mail appears as already read, when a mail database is
compacted after upgrading from a V4 server to V5 Domino Server.
This problem occurs whenever the ODS is upgraded to 41 and affects all messages
received after the database was last opened. Once the database is opened, new
documents appear correctly as Unread. This problem is likely to occur when the
server is upgraded from R4.6 to R5. However, the database ODS structure is not
upgraded until Compact has been run on it.
This requires that an unread mark table exist for the user ID. If a mailfile
has not been opened by the user ID, then new documents will appear correctly as
Unread when the database is opened for the first time.Supporting Information:
